In a significant recognition of his contributions to science and innovation, Sri Hulikal Nataraj has been appointed as a member of the prestigious Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA). The official order was issued by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, on May 16, 2025.

The Karnataka Science and Technology Academy functions under the aegis of the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST), playing a vital role in the promotion and dissemination of scientific knowledge and technology in the state. The academy brings together leading scientists, academicians, researchers, and innovators to guide policy, education, and outreach initiatives related to science and technology.

Sri Nataraj, known for his contributions to grassroots innovation and science education outreach, joins an esteemed list of 20 other experts from various scientific and academic disciplines who have been selected to the Academy for the current term. These members include senior professors, research scientists, technologists, and administrators from across Karnataka and India.

The government order lists members from prestigious institutions such as the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Bangalore Institute of Technology, and retired directors of key scientific organizations, as well as independent experts and entrepreneurs in science and green technology.

This new appointment not only honors the achievements of Hulikal Nataraj but also underscores the state government’s commitment to strengthening science and technology-based development by involving voices from diverse professional backgrounds.

The updated panel of members will play a critical advisory role in shaping science and technology programs, fostering innovation, and nurturing scientific temper among students and the general public in Karnataka.

The appointment is valid under Government Order No. 39 STS 2023 (Part-1), dated 16-05-2025.
